Sparring Bucks...



These photographs were taken at Shenandoah National Park the day after Thanksgiving. The two bucks were also featured in a December 2 post grooming each other. They spent a good ten minutes grooming each other before they began sparring. It lasted another ten minutes or so before another larger buck showed up. At that time the bigger buck shown here broke it off and lowered his ears. Unfortunately nothing happened between the two. I tried to get better unobstructed views but this was the best spot I could find in the woods.

Great shots of the Bucks. Didn't you say a month ago you want to go to SNP in the snow. Well they have snow now, when are you making the trip. You may need the snow shoes.
