Wow! post number 800 already and next week will be the third anniversary of the blog. It is hard to believe that I have been doing this that long but it is harder for me to believe that I will do it another three years. My last post featured Elk in velvet, whitetails are another mammal that grows antlers with velvet. My last trip to photograph whitetails was in June around the same time as my last Elk trip. They were both photographed at different times of the day, the first as the sun came up and the last as the sun was about to set leaving me with little light for action. I photographed some bucks but more importantly I photographed numerous fawns. With the way my job has been lately I really need this relief from it. When I observe and spend time with wildlife all my worries just go away, I am relaxed and having fun. I have a two day trip coming up right after the Elk rut to SNP to watch deer and get me primed for the whitetail rut. Now to get the week off in early November to enjoy the rut this year in SNP.
Please visit Shane's blog again today for a new post. He is working hard to keep it up with school starting again (first year in high school and lots of homework), scouts, bowling and a part time job. He is a fine young man and I am very proud of him.

PS I tried to comment on Shane's picture today but the verification wouldn't show. Let him know I like the effect.
great shots of the fawn. Congrats on 800 and 3 years. And yes you have to enjoy those road trips. I will be in WV for the air show this weekend.
Congratulations on post #800!
I like the fawn photos; it looks curious and playful.
Well done my friend. Congrats on 3 great years! Keep up the good work..
800 blog posts is very impressive, Bard! You should be proud of this accomplishment and being to share special photography memories with Shane. I really enjoy both of your blogs! I only have 271 posts in a year and a half, so you are way ahead of me. I always enjoy learning new photography methods and really enjoy these ongoing conversations!
Congratulations on reaching 800, only a fellow blogger knows just how much work and dedication that takes.
The little fawns are so en-deering!
Awwwww! I love these photos. They are so fun and put a smile on my face this morning.
