The Skies Over Daytona...

It is Thursday and that means it is time once again for Skywatch Friday. Today's photographs come from Daytona International Speedway last month. For those of you that have gone to Nascar races before you know the skies are always filled with some sort of aircraft. Daytona was no different from the blimp to planes flying by with banners, helicopters completing the links for in car cameras and the usual fly by to start the race.

Don't forget to click the link and enjoy skywatch photos from around the world. The staff of Skywatch Friday does a great job each week bringing people and skies together from all over the world.

Looks like a few birds hanging around the blimp - I wonder what the attraction is?

Beautiful shots, I'm amazed you managed to capture them in the air!

Terrific capture, Bradley! It's neat to have such a clear closeup of them. I heard the race was kind of a let down... with it ending on the caution.

Nice shots, Brad. I've tried forever to get a decent shot of the DirectTV blimp when it's in Dallas, but never seem to be in the right place at the right time.

I am not always a person that especially likes photographs of airplanes, but for some reason I really like the one here...I wish I could put my finger on what it is that makes me like it as opposed to my usual ho-hum thoughts.

It must be wonderful to take å trip whith an airship :) Much more peaceful than the plains :)

Great skywatch post :)

Happy weekend :)

I wonder if it is more comfortable to travel in a blimp or a hot air balloon? Nice skywatch entry.

LOL so were the jets launched by a satellite TV competitor?!
