Shane And Our New Toys...

I mentioned last week that Shane celebrated a birthday on June 13TH (he turned 14). One of his gifts was a World War 2 Russian sniper rifle the Mosin Nagant. The day after we took a trip to Cabela's to look at handguns and I purchased a gift for myself the Walther's P22. It was a hard decision as a couple other pistols were in the running. Not wanting to see the guns grow old and dusty we headed to the range for some target practice. The P22 was allot of fun to shoot, we do need to adjust the laser site and the Mosin was just as much fun. I will admit the Mosin has one heck of a kick to it. I think we will be spending many more days at the range with these and some of our other weapons.

An interesting post, Brad. I used to shoot all of the time, but haven't fired a shot in a long time. I used to do a lot of group shooting from the bench and a lot of pistol shooting also. I was too nervous to do well in formal revolver matches, but Coy was the state Deputy WCO revolver champion for a lot of years.

Cool toys, brings back memories of my younger days! Thousands and thousands of rounds later now I seldom get a firearm out except to target it before doing a spot of hunting but the good memories of my shooting days remain.

The Mosin was a good choice for a boy with such an apparent love of the military. Does it shoot pretty good?

Glad to see you made it to SNP. I haven't went anywhere lately for photography; something I must change soon.

Brad
That is the way to bring up a child. familiarity and proficiency with firearms brings respect for firearms. Way to go!
