Last Wednesday I posted a couple of photographs of the Red-crested Cardinals we seen in Hawaii. At the time I mentioned that the male and females both looked alike unlike the Northern Cardinals we have here in Pennsylvania. The juveniles look different than the adults in that they have more of a brown head than the red of the mature birds. Hawaii also has the Northern version that we have here and the Yellow-billed Cardinals. Unfortunately we did not see any of them.I would like to wish my mother a Happy Birthday today. Don't worry Mom I won't mention your age.
