Today's Skywatch Friday photo comes from Blackpoint Drive in Merritt Island, Florida. Can you name all the different types of birds in the photo, there is at least five different ones. Be sure and click the link to view other great Skywatch photos from all over the world.
Oh neat! What an interesting flock! It looks like maybe some pelicans or cranes of some kind? What are those pink birds? The only pink bird I know about is a flamingo.
I have very little knowledge about birds. especially foreign ones. Only pink birds I know is Flamingoes and some looked like storks of some sort. Possibly there were geese too. It is an amazing action shot. How you managed this is beyond my comprehension. Absolutely marvellous.
Wonderful shot, Brad! Off the bat I see White Ibises, Snowy Egrets and Roseate Spoonbills (the pink ones). The bigger egret in the top right corner looks like it might be a Great Egret, but I'm not sure about that one. Also not sure about the four darker birds...
Spoonbills White Ibis Great Egret Snowy Egret but I cannot see the smaller dark birds good enough to tell, even after clicking to enlarge. This is great to get them all together in one photo. Nice SWF.
Wow, what a wonderful photo and catch. I managed to id flamingo, maybe Canada Goose(front of the pack) and some kind of crane....so I guess I got one! Thank you for sharing and stopping by. Smiles
In addition to what Leedra enumerated, it looks like there might be a Great Blue Heron, and is that a Northern Harrier on the far left. Was he the culprit is getting all these birds in the air?
Brad: What a wonderful capture, such neat detail. I see ibis, egrets, spoonbills, ducks and hawks/vulture all one wing. There may be more than 5 kinds.

I'm not really a birder, but what a WONDERFUL shot!!! Happy SWF. :)
That's a beautiful shot. I'd be guessing if I named the birds but by any other name they are still beauties in flight.
No, I can't name them. But I'm amazed that that many are flying together. ;-)

I'm not nearly fluent enough in bird to pick out the different species, but it's a fantastic photo!
