Sky Watch Over The Pacific...

It is that time of the week again, Sky Watch Friday. This one like the last few come from Hawaii. While on the ship we only really had one fantastic sunset that lit up the entire sky with red and beauty. Of course I watched it from a window while eating dinner. Please click on the photo for a much larger version. Thanks again to the sky watch team for this day each wee and don't forget to click the link to view more great sky watch photos from all over the world.

Linda Tries Sky Watch Friday...

Today's sky watch Friday on my blog is a little different, the photo is not mine. It was taken by my wife Linda while laying on the beach at Waikiki and I think she did a pretty good job. I want to thank everyone that stopped by last week, I was a little surprised to be first on the list for my first time back in awhile. Thanks again to the staff of sky watch Friday and don't forget to click the link and check out more skies from all over the world.

Sky Watch Paradise Style...

Hello all, I hope Mr. Linky is working today, I tried a couple of weeks ago with no luck. Today's photograph comes from Hawaii. I do not remember which island I took the photo at but this is what the skies looked like everyday along the ocean. If you traveled inland a few miles it changed to darker, clouds and fog. Don't forget to click the link to visit other great sky watch sites from all over the world. Thanks again to the sky watch staff for putting on a good program.

Sky Watch Friday From Above...

After a month off I am back to Sky Watch Friday. Today's photograph was taken out the window of a 757 over 30,000 feet above the Pacific ocean close to the island of O'ahu. I really thought this trip would yield many good sunrise and sunset photos but I had trouble being up early enough for sunrise photos and found that most of the time I was on the wrong side of the islands for sunset photos. While on the ship only one good sunset photo opportunity occured and I had to watch it out a window from the dinner table. Oh well, I still captured a few photos I can use for upcoming sky watch Fridays. Be shure and click the link to enjoy other great sky watch photos from all over the world.

More Skywatch Alaska...

It is skywatch Friday again. I want to thank everyone that stopped by last week and left the great comments. Because of time and weather I have not had the chance to get out and shoot anything lately so I have to keep going back to older photos. This one comes from Alaska again, if I remember correctly is was taken at Portage, further down the turnagain arm from the photo last week.

Skywatch Alaska...

It has been a few weeks since I have been able to do skywatch Friday, between work and other commitments I just did not have the time to do it right, but this week I do. Click the photograph it gets much larger and reveals allot more detail. This photograph was taken along the turnagain arm in Alaska during our family vacation two years ago. What a beautiful place Alaska was, we spent almost a month traveling around in a rented camper. We would like to go back again sometime and do a cruise of the inner passage, to many places to see and to little time to do it all. Be sure and click the link to see great skies from all over the world. Thanks to the skywatch staff for putting together a great program.

The Skies Over Daytona...

It is Thursday and that means it is time once again for Skywatch Friday. Today's photographs come from Daytona International Speedway last month. For those of you that have gone to Nascar races before you know the skies are always filled with some sort of aircraft. Daytona was no different from the blimp to planes flying by with banners, helicopters completing the links for in car cameras and the usual fly by to start the race.

What No One Wants To See In The Sky...

Today's sky watch Friday post comes from just North of Jackson Hole. I would like to tell you just where I was but since this was the first time I had ever been back this road I really don't know. We were in the Tetons for the rut last year and this prescribed burn had been going on for a couple of days, like all firemen it got the best of us and we had to take a drive to the area to check it out.

Prescribed burns are done for numerous reasons, sometimes to remove vegetation from areas in case a real fire breaks out. Other times to create a mosaic of burned fuels, resulting in a diverse wildlife habitat and vigorous plant regrowth. I do not know the reason for this one.

Warmer And More Colorful Times...

It is that time of the week again, Sky Watch Friday. Please take the time to click the link to the left to enjoy sky watch photographs from all over the world, the staff of sky watch are to be commended for the fantastic job they do each and every week.

First off please don't forget to click on the photograph it will get much larger. This was taken the beginning of November last year when my son and I took a road trip looking for things to shoot. This pretty spot was found along the Cumberland Highway between Pleasant Hall and Roxbury in Franklin County Pennsylvania. With the cold weather and grey skies I really miss the blue and white when I look up. Come on summer time.

Teton Sunset...

Hello and welcome to another week of Sky Watch Friday, this is two weeks in a row for me so maybe I am getting back into the swing of things. This sunset photo was taken in the Grand Tetons in the fall of 2006. Every time I have been there I have had little to no luck with morning and evening colors. The cloud gods just never want to cooperate with me. Be sure and click the link for sky watch to view great photos from all over the world.
