This is a really cool looking bird, the Belted Kingfisher. Unfortunately I only got to see two of them and they were both to far away to photograph well. Although not the best photo I really like this bird so I decided to post him anyways. Belted Kingfisher...

Awesome... I am glad you did post him. It's a beautiful photo despite the distance, it turned out very well!
Kingfishers always look top heavy with their big heads and massive beaks.

I don't know why but I have never found a trusting kingfisher. They always keep their distance & I keep hoping that one will slip up and allow me to get close :)
Good shot Brad of a difficult to photograph bird.
Much better than anything I have of them.
I have always found them too shy. Hopefully one will make a mistake sometime and I will get the shot of a lifetime!
