Fall Skywatch...

This weeks skywatch photograph comes from my recent trip out west. It was one of those trips that you just couldn't buy a cloud on. Skies were nothing but blue without a spot of white.

While leaving the Grand Tetons and heading back to Yellowstone rain started moving into the area. We just happened to notice the sun coming through the clouds striking this group of Aspen trees with the dark clouds overhead.

I hope you enjoy this and every other sky watch Friday post today, to find more just click the sky watch link on the lower left of my site.

Good Morning, Bradley. I love this photo and the many others you have on this blog. Especially the one of that wolf. It looks like you are so close to all your subjects. How do you stay calm? I would be afraid the animals would come charging. Your hockey pictures below are really nice. I tried to watch hockey a few times on TV but, I could never see that puck because it was sliding around so quickly. Naturally I gave that up. Anyway, I love you blog. Keep up the good work. Have a nice day. Happy Sky Watching.

Hello Michele, thanks for the kind words. Sometimes I am close, sometimes it is just that I am shooting with a big lens or the image has been cropped in. Staying calm is normally not a problem, it just requires learning the wildlife you are shooting. understanding their habits and anticipating their moves. I willnot put myself in harms way, to many people forget that the first part of wild animanl is "wild".

When I first started to watch hockey I did not like it myself, but after attending in person and setting close to the glass it becomes a different game. You feel like you are part of it. For these Bears games our seats are in row 4, so we fell like we are part of the action.

Thanks again Brad

Hi Brad,

I really like the colors of the leaves contrasted against the clouds in the sky. Outstanding!

I also like the Market at Washingtonburg post. The B&W is especially good as it gives an old time feel to the scene.
